Feet are funny. It's an interesting structure to draw, just as the hand. It is said to include 26 bones, 33 articulations and more than a hundred muscles. Besides, it has many tendons and ligaments. That's what I say: its a marvelous object to draw. With that idea in mind, and having felt the need for doing a science illustration, here am I, enjoying myself. 

It's surprising how many muscles fit in that small space. We have to take into account that the muscles for moving the foot itself are not inside it!! 

The feeling of being walking lies on the position of legs and feet. The central drawing is that of a walker. Someone who is moving forward. Both pinkies on the outside, in order to stabilize the movement.There it goes. Getting away from us. 

Just an interesting fact. The bad smell of feet, the scent that travels along with us, is produced by bacteria. The cheese-like smell comes from Brevibacterium genus bacteria and Staphilococcus epidermidi species; they synthesize isovaleric acid (3-methyl-butanoic acid). Interesting.

Los pies son divertidos. Son una estructura interesante para dibujar, igual que la mano. Por lo visto tiene 26 huesos, 33 articulaciones y más de cien músculos. Además tienen muchos tendones y ligamentos. Lo que decía: una maravilla para dibujar. Con esa idea en mente, y con la "llamada" de la ilustración científica, aquí estoy, disfrutando. 

Es sorprendente cuánto músculos caben en un sitio tan pequeño. Además, los músculos que mueve el propio pie como un todo están fuera del pie. 

La sensación de caminar la dan la postura de las piernas y los pies. El dibujo central es precisamente el de un caminante. Una persona que avanza. Con los dos meñiques hacia fuera, estabilizando el movimiento. Ahí va. Alejándose de nosotros.  

Un dato interesante. El mal olor de los pies (esa "esencia" que camina con nosotros), lo producen bacterias, que producen ácido isovalérico (3-metil-butanoico). Curioso.
